History:
Mary: Mary grew up in a bad area and was attacked a lot. This forced her to grow strong quick, and made her more kind than she otherwise would be, even if she's not very trusting.
Amy: Due to Amy's shy and timid nature, she was bullied a lot throughout her life, but even so she never so much as tried to fight back.
Both: One day, while Mary was wandering in Amy's home area, she passed by Amy, who was being bullied. She became enraged and protected her, offering to let Amy travel alongside her. Amy gladly accepted, gaining her only friend as of yet, and a very protective one at that.
